VDI/VDE 2623

VDI/VDE 2623 is a directive of the Association of German Engineers (VDI) that defines a standardized IT interface for inspection equipment management. It was developed by Technical Committee 3.23 "IT Interface in Inspection Equipment Management" and describes an XML-based exchange format that enables the cross-manufacturer transfer of inspection equipment data.

The standard governs, among other things:

  • Master data – Identification, designation, manufacturer, serial number, location
  • Calibration history – Performed inspections, results and calibration data
  • Test plans – Test instructions and calibration procedures
  • Documents – Linked calibration certificates and evidence

Memida implements Version 3.0 of the standard and validates every export against the official XSD schema. This means exported data can be imported by any VDI 2623-compatible system – ideal for data exchange with service providers and audit evidence.
