Seal DCC and PDF files locally

Under Seal → Local file, you can seal DCC and supported PDF files using your valid company certificate. This is free and does not require a Memida account. Your documents stay on your computer.

Memida Signing checks your selected files before approval and shows a result for each file. The electronic seal is associated with your organization.

Prepare files and certificate

Unlock the app. Under Certificates, select a valid certificate with Use for sealing, then open Seal → Local file.

The following file formats are supported:

DocumentFormatMaximum size per file
Digital Calibration Certificate (DCC), version 3.3.0, without an existing seal.xml4 MiB
PDF 1.3 to 1.7 without an existing signature.pdf32 MiB

The DCC must conform to schema 3.3.0 and contain cryptElectronicSeal with the value true.

Unsupported files include encrypted PDFs, forms, files that are already signed and compressed cross-reference tables. You can find the specific reason for rejection under Results.

Choose a revocation check

Check revocation status online before sealing (CRL) downloads public certificate revocation lists from D-Trust. This requires internet access and a supported certificate chain. Documents, certificates and passwords are not uploaded.

Fig. 1: Online revocation check before local sealing

For a current revocation check, enable the option (1) before selecting files. The app then refuses to seal if the certificate or its issuer has been revoked, or if the check is incomplete. With the option disabled, the current revocation status remains unchecked.

An online revocation check is not available for a Test seal · not qualified. Disable the option for such a test. A test seal does not create an eAttestation.

Review the selection and seal

Fig. 2: Local sealing of DCC and PDF files

  1. Open Select files (1) and choose your DCC or PDF files.
  2. Under Review documents and certificate (2), check the selected files, excluded files and company certificate. Also review the contents of the original documents.
  3. Select Seal file or the displayed number of files to seal. Then approve the request in the operating system's security dialog.
  4. Choose a file name and save location, or a destination folder for multiple files.
  5. Check the Results (3).

The app processes files one at a time and suggests the file name suffix -sealed. Original files and existing destination files are preserved. If source files have changed since selection or cannot be read, you must select and approve them again.

Interpret the results

Sealed copy saved confirms the output file at the selected location. For Not saved, the app states the reason, such as an unsupported format, an oversized file or a location without write access.

Saved copies remain after cancellation. Check the individual results before processing a batch again.

The app does not add a trusted timestamp. The online revocation check applies at the time of the check; it confirms neither past validity nor the scope of accreditation. Under Verify seals, you can examine the copies and save a seal verification record.
